truvi commerce announces EMV-enabled Mobile Point-of-Sale
truvi commerce is happy to announce that its mobile point-of-sale (mPOS) solution, with preferred payment processing and gateway partner CardConnect, a First Data Company, is EMV-ready.
This means that winery customers can purchase EMV compatible hardware and begin accepting chip card transactions immediately. The company’s new EMV readers will accept Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and other NFC-based payment methods. As with its online payment processing solution, truvi’s Point-of-Sale offers tokenization to protect and safely store customer data.
Multiple Payment Methods: When checking out with the secure contactless Chip Card Reader, tasting room visitors can swipe, use a chip card, or pay with mobile wallets such as Apple Pay. Google Pay, and Samsung Pay
Dual Merchant Accounts: truvi customers can elect to use one merchant ID for online sales and a separate merchant ID for in-person point-of-sale transactions if they choose. This feature is frequently requested by wineries and will allow them to take advantage of better rates on card present Tasting Room orders.
Connect Through a Variety of Options: Connects wirelessly, through Bluetooth, or wired to compatible iPhone, iPad and Android devices running the truvi Point-of-Sale.
Tipping: A configurable tipping screen allows for tipping if customers choose to enable this feature
Greeting: Winery customers can write their own welcome and thank you messages
Security: Sensitive card data is never passed to truvi. It is passed directly from the device to the payment gateway via Point-to-Point Encryption. Tokens and transaction IDs are then returned to truvi, allowing its customers to process orders, issue refunds and void orders if needed.
According to the US Payments Forum, 99% of the top 200 U.S. retailers are now chip-enabled and 60% of overall transaction volumes are chip-on-chip (chip cards processed via EMV-enabled devices). Data released by VISA shows that counterfeit fraud ticked down at U.S. merchants by 75% from September 2015 onward as more storefronts started accepting chip cards.
